There is a Legend

There is a legend with fancy woven
That our life is holy theater,
Where good humor as a comic Eden,
And our anguish as a tragic play,
Are simultaneously presented.
That God is the only Player and we as cast,
Are so superb that while the play goes on,

We think we are the roles that we perform.
If villains, our deeds dire ruin forecast.
If heroes, goodness we project instead.
We prevail or fail, weep, laugh or slay,
According to the way the script is written.
All actors merge after the play is over
Unto the One Player with fancy woven.
